Symplifi — Making Symptom Tracking Accessible
Overview
Background Information:
Symplifi, originally named RISE, is a POTS symptom tracking app that is used on mobile and smartwatch. Our client, Alex Rosenbaum, a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student at Cal Poly, created this product alongside his studies. Symplifi is meant to help those with POTS, Long COVID, and ME/CFS, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed, understand symptoms and manage their medical condition. With these illnesses, the symptom tracking process can often be overwhelming and frustrating. As designers, our task was to simplify the complex process of tracking symptoms for users. Additionally, we wanted to help users organize and make sense of their unpredictable symptoms. Over 8 weeks, our team was responsible for re-creating the branding of the product as well as establishing the design of its mobile, smartwatch, and website interface.
Problem Statement:
In order to effectively communicate Symplifi’s mission and create a user-friendly symptom tracking process, we focused on these key improvements:
Logo Redesign
Branding (Colors, Graphic Elements, Typeface, Product Name)
Smartwatch App Prototype
3 Mobile App Screens (Homepage, Calendar, Data Logging)
Product Landing Page
